For 10 weeks, our groups will be preparing for what will be TVYT’s only second ever attempt at a completely improvised performance!
Improvised theatre means that the performers are making it up on the spot - often working from a suggestion from the audience - so we never know what will happen next. What we do know, is that there is always a lot of fun, a lot of laughs, and a lot of excitement!
Improvisation skills are vital for every type of performance and theatre making, and good improvisers need acting skills, team work, creativity and openness, to name just a few. This term we’ll not only be working up to a big performance at the end of the term, but we’ll be helping you continue to build your performance skills at the same time.
On show day, all the different TVYT groups will come together for one big performance event in the Cinema space at Fuse Media Centre. There will be two performances – one matinee and one evening – which will be open to friends, family, and the general public.
Sometimes you’ll perform all together with members of your own weekly group, sometimes in smaller groups or solo, and sometimes you’ll be mixed up with the other groups, so you’ll get to perform with some brand new people too, and maybe even some of the audience if they are feeling brave…!
