"TVYT's funniest show ever!"
Our first play in a week of 2014 got off to a flying start... REMEDIES FOR THE UNTHINKABLE was based on the Roald Dahl novel, 'George's Marvellous Medicine'. For a week, the group worked with Helen and Kiz to explore ideas, themes and characters from this story and used them to create their own production.
The play took place in the laboratory that created the 'remedies for the unthinkable'...
"Our symposium of secrets..."
The audience arrived to the entrance of a science lab... covered with plastic sheeting and with hazard signs everywhere. They were taken through decontamination and seated in the lab... full of glowing coloured potions.
The play tooks us through the making of, implications of and repercussions of the HAPPY POTION... the SEEN NOT HEARD POTION... the LOVE POTION... led through the journey by characters like Roger, the Health and Safety Manager, Debra Donkey, Head of PR and Wanda Von Crazy, the chief potion maker.
All in all, it was an explosive riot of a show, as our audiences and participants agreed. (Pictures below. Click the hazard sign top right to see behind the scenes.)
"I don't think I've ever laughed as much."
