"Welcome to A Safe Place Hypnotherapy Centre..."
This project was based on the novel, 'The Demon Headmaster'. The group used this to explore themes of control and manipulation, and from their ideas, created the world of 'A Safe Space Hypnotherapy Centre'
The audience sat in the waiting room whilst the action took place around them. They were asked to wear blindfolds, "for confidentiality reasons", during parts of the action and were escorted to their appointments by the management.
During the play, they encountered many diverse characters, including the management; a young man suffering delusions of being on a nature documentary; one girl being dragged to see the therapist by her mother; homeless brothers who thought therapy was a waste of time, mysterious doctors who appeared and disappeared again with various items, including a teddy bear and a chainsaw! Then there was the cheery old receptionist, Pauline, and group of chavs who were not quite what they appeared to be. It was the chavs who eventually revealed that Pauline was in fact, the Demon Headmaster after pulling the wig from her head!

So, sorry there haven't been any entries for the past two days, we've been too busy with Spr Srs Bsnss! The Executive Producers have been on an adventure to hand out leaflets, TVYT's first ever piece of fan fiction was written and, oh yeah, we made a play!
It's going really well and we've got a great story and we think it's pretty different from previous productions. It's gonna be rad!
Keep reading for exclusive short story: The Limb Game.
The Limb Game
Kiz strode across the tepid room, her strong chin raised majestically, rather like a polar bear, fixated on its prey. She slapped the coloured ball from left hand to right, the sharp sound made everyone in the room jump and they grouped into a circle in an almost robotic manner.
"Ok.....who wants to start?" Kiz asked, looking round the silent room.
"I will..." a small voice piped up, somewhere to the left of Kiz. Little Hannah a slender, sporty female of 11 years and 8 months caught the ball at a dangerous angle. She straightened her back, threw the ball, and the game began.
Hannah threw the ball but fortunately Amelia's long arm stretched high and caught it.
"Almost..." she shot daggers back to Hannah. She flicked her long blonde hair then pelted the ball at her little sister, Eleanor.
The Game moved fast. No one was safe. Izzy took limb after limb. Her throws just on the border of... bad. She was the real danger here.
"Noooooo!" cried Will, his skinny figure fell to the floor. "That was a bad throw!"
"I'm sorry, Will." Kiz took an inwards breath, "You're out!" In that moment, Will looked over at Izzy and saw a shard of a smile playing on her lips. She knew what she had done.
The group gasped and made a whimper of sympathy as Tom dropped the ball. It was fatal. He was out. No time to mourn. There was no mercy in this game.
With a war cry that sounded similar to a squirrel in a blender, Abi lobbed the ball at Ben. He leapt to catch it but missed by a kitten's whisker. He lost his last arm that day. His noble loss was shortly followed by the fall of Zara, Maisie and Emily.
Izzy threw the ball too hard and was heartlessly disqualified but she did however manage to take Thomas with her.
A group of 17 was now down to 4. A bad throw from Abi was horrific and her last limb was taken from her.
Elishia held the ball a fraction of a second to long and she too fell. It was a tragic loss.
Now two remained.
Ebs' green hair flipped over her shoulder and Rannon blew upwards to keep her blonde fringe from getting in her eyes. This was srs. There was no time to pause. The brutal game had to move on.
Throws were getting faster and faster and mildly more violent each time. Love meant nothing in this game.
"What?" Ebs cried in alarm, "This isn't the ball, it's a pot noodle!"
"Haha!" laughed Rannon menacingly, "Now your hands are mostly full!" Tossing the surprise noodles into the air (the fallen Will caught them and looked rather pleased) Ebs was ready to catch the ball just in time.
"I'm sorry, Rannon."Ebs said, strongly. Rannon was so confused by Ebs' cryptic codswollop that she missed the catch! The walrus had been taken down. Slowly she fell.
"Noooooo!" She cried as her chest hit the floor. Defeated.
Ebs' victory was dark. Who knows how she took down such a graceful beast. All we know, is that she did.
We take the limb game very seriously here at TVYT.

Monday 25th August
So today was the first day (as you probably knew) and already there's been loads of ideas, selfies and srs bsnss, and best of all, no injuries!
Some of the people doing this week, I've never met before but that's cool, because everyone seems really nice and not too weirded out by how weird we are! We all seem to be working together well and have some good ideas for ideas.....if that makes sense :)
I think this performance is going to be really interesting, with some of the ideas getting thrown about today we could end up with an incredibly fabulous show with [spoilers!]...
I'm looking forward to the rest of the week!
